Aglianico

Aglianico del Vulture is one of the most eminent and acclaimed red wines in Italy. A typical product of Basilicata, it comes from the foot of the Vulture volcano. An authoritative and powerful wine with notes of ripe fruit, spices and tobacco, people often call it “the Barolo of the south” sharing as it does some of the qualities of its Piemontese counterpart. Its strong, distinctive flavour makes it the ideal match for grilled or roasted meat  and mature cheeses.
