The 2018 season was quite different and very unusual compared to previous vintages. The cold winter included some “memorable” snow and drastic frost although this did not damage the vines. Spring brought cool temperatures and frequent rainfall, favouring regular budbreak, flowering and fruit set, with the development of healthy clusters, slightly sparse compared to varietal traits. The cultivation operations are almost all manual and with due care play a role in improving microclimate conditions in the vineyards to achieve healthy, well-ripened fruit showing good acidity and acceptable sugar levels.
