full-bodied, intense, spicy
Maximum expression of Bolla's passion for Valpolicella Classico and its territory. It is a wine which embodies the history of the winery which itself also represents in some ways the history of Amarone Classico: the name “Le Origini” serves to remind of the role played by the Bolla family in the genesis and growth of Amarone all over the world with the 1950 vintage. From the finest grapes of our finest vineyard: the rest is passion, meticulous attention to detail and a relentless search for perfection. The winter of 2016 experienced higher temperatures than the average and will be remembered for its lack of precipitation except for a sprinkling of snow. There followed from the beginning of April a period of cold and rainy weather which lasted till half way through May. Budbreak was relatively early during the first few days of April, but without any effect on the flowering of the vines which took place as normal. The period between May and August brought variations in temperature with values below the historical average. Distinctly good weather predominated in September with high temperatures and ideal wind conditions allowing perfect ripening of the grapes.
